SUMMARY:Licensing Academy by LES Italia
DESCRIPTION:Siamo lieti di presentarvi l’iniziativa “Licensing Academy by LES Italia”\, un ciclo di 13 webinar con cadenza mensile ed in alcuni casi quindicinale dedicato a tematiche e problematiche non solo giuridiche\, ma anche tecniche e di natura economica legate al mondo del licensing dei diritti di proprietà intellettuale. \nIl ciclo persegue due obiettivi ugualmente importanti ed ambiziosi: fornire uno strumento utile ai giovani associati per migliorare la loro preparazione nella costruzione e gestione dei contratti di licenza e\, al contempo\, consentire agli associati con maggiore esperienza di approfondire le problematiche che le nuove innovazioni\, come ad esempio l’IA e le tecnologie standardizzate\, pongono al mondo del licensing nei diversi settori dell’economia. \nCiascun webinar seguirà un format “snello” di 90 – 120 minuti max e – tendenzialmente – vedrà impegnati un rappresentante del mondo giuridico professionale e/o accademico\, un consulente in materia di proprietà intellettuale ed uno o più rappresentanti delle imprese. Come da tradizione di LES Italia\, inoltre\, i relatori affronteranno le molte tematiche in programma con esempi concreti e\, ove possibile\, illustrando e discutendo modelli di clausole e di tecniche utili per la creazione e gestione efficiente di contratti e accordi concernenti i diritti di proprietà intellettuale. \nInfine\, poiché molte delle odierne problematiche hanno natura cross-border con approcci che variano tra i diversi sistemi giuridici\, i webinar affronteranno le singole tematiche alla luce non solo della prassi nazionale\, ma anche internazionale ed è per questo che molti di essi saranno condotti in lingua inglese coinvolgendo associati provenienti da altri chapter LESI e così continuando\, con nuovo slancio\, il virtuoso cammino di internazionalizzazione delle nostre attività associative intrapreso con successo negli anni passati. \nDi seguito trovate l’elenco con il programma del ciclo che inizia nel mese di dicembre 2024 per concludersi a ottobre 2025. This fully integrated business unit manages patents\, licensing\, partnerships\, and all associated legal matters. His team specializes in patent licensing\, patent portfolio strategy\, and business intelligence. \nWith a background in business and information technology\, Harold brings over 25 years of international experience\, including expatriation in Silicon Valley\, Madagascar\, and Poland. \nPrior to his current role\, he led innovation initiatives for Orange affiliates in Spain\, England\, and Romania. His career includes diverse roles in information technology companies of all sizes\, from start-ups to large enterprises. He has held positions ranging from technical expert to product marketing\, large project management\, transformation programs\, business development\, managing director\, and entrepreneur. \n\nKristian Sæther\, Product Director\, Long Range Business Unit\, Nordic Semiconductor \nKristian serves as the product director in Nordic Semiconductor’s Long Range Business Unit. His product responsibilities cover product solutions and cloud services for cellular\, non-terrestrial\, and other low power wide area radio technologies. \nPassionate about pioneering technologies that promise to revolutionize industries\, he joined Nordic’s cellular team in 2019. Prior to his current role\, he accumulated 15 years of diverse experience from Atmel\, Microchip and Novelda\, where he held various positions in R&D\, applications\, marketing\, product\, and strategic management across different product lines. Kristian holds an M.Sc. in cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. \n\nMatteo Baroni\, European and Italian Patent Attorney\, Metroconsult CEO \nSince 2012\, Matteo Baroni has worked as an Intellectual Property Consultant at Metroconsult. Until 2024\, he was the Director of the Milan office\, and he is currently the CEO of the firm. \nMatteo is a patent and trademark attorney registered before the European Patent Office (EPO)\, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO)\, and the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM). \nHe has been involved in the IP field since 2000\, mainly handling patent matters in the electronics\, software\, and telecommunications sectors. He has gained significant experience in dealing with essential patents for several technological standards (e.g.: UMTS\, LTE\, x-DSL\, Wi-Fi\, DVB)\, both in the drafting and prosecution phases. He also provides technical support in opposition and litigation issues. Matteo also works on trademark and corporate design-related matters. \n\nGiovanni Galimberti\, Managing Partner and Head of Italian IP department @ Bird&Bird \nAs well as being one of the founding partners of our Italian operations\, Giovanni Galimberti is Managing Partner and head of Bird & Bird’s Italian Intellectual Property department. \nOffering expertise in all IP matters including patents\, trademarks\, design\, trade secrets\, copyright and unfair competition\, Giovanni leads the team assisting clients in sectors including life science\, electronics\, automotive mechanical and food & beverage. \nIn patent matters\, he has handled and coordinated numerous pan-European litigation for national and international clients in particular in life sciences & healthcare and tech & comms sectors both at national and UPC level. \nIn trademark matters\, Giovanni assists several Fortune 500 companies in the food sector and some consortia in disputes relating to infringement of their well-known trademarks\, geographical indications and appellations of origin. \nIn recent years\, he has contributed to Italian and European legal magazines in the field of patent and trademark law. \nHe is the President of EPLAW\, being also member of AIPPI\, AIPLA\, INTA\, LES.
